Find out if your personal information is on the Dark Web

Did you know that if your details are on the Dark Web, it will affect your ability to get Finance, you can be frozen out of your online accounts; have money stolen and your identity could be stolen.

Only monitoring the Dark Web can prepare you for any issues you may get and show you how to stop fraud before it starts. We search chat rooms and millions of data records on the Dark Web to find out if you are a victim of data theft.

FraudWeb Full searches weekly for personal information about you that is for sale on the Dark Web, giving you a greater chance of stopping potential fraud issues before they happen. When we perform the FraudWeb Full search, we look at information that criminals will be targeting:

Your email
Address
Bank Account
Credit card
Phone number
Online Logins
Date of Birth
National Insurance Number
Driving Licence Number
Passport Number

When we search for your information on the Dark Web your details are safe, our data encryption and specialist systems ensure we only look for your information. There are browsers you can use to search the Dark Web but we would not recommend that you do this yourself. The Dark Web is a place for criminal activity and where traditional internet security may not work.

Finding out that you have been a victim of identity fraud is not nice and can be very distressing. Staying informed and protected will help you avoid:

  • Unexplained withdrawals from your bank account.
  • Receiving calls or mail from debt collectors for debts that aren’t yours.
  • Receiving unexplained bills or correspondence.
  • Changes to accounts that you don’t recognise.
  • Changes to your credit report that you don’t recognise.
  • Notifications from your bank informing you of attempts to take or spend money from one of your accounts.
  • Receive bills for goods or services that you haven’t bought or used.

The FraudWeb Full will inform you if you are at risk, the Cyber Care will help keep your PC / tablet / mobile safe and keep you safe whilst you are online. Using both together ensures you have much greater protection and less likely to find all your savings have been stolen.

Don’t be a victim of Cyber Crime.

Your details normally appear on the Dark Web due to data breaches or criminal activity such as hacking or phishing. It would be unusual for a company to sell or pass your details on if they are a legitimate business, as there are Data Protection rules in most countries to stop data being misused like this.

Unfortunately, Data Breaches are becoming more common as criminals target companies, spending months on some occasions, breaching their fire walls to steal their data. It is not always evident to a business that a Data Breach even has occurred and could be several months before the breach is found. In 2019, 3,800 data breaches were declared world wide (souce: Norton). This was a 54% increase on the year before.

In 2015 UK telecommunications company Talk Talk had a data breach, with 157,000 customer records, in which 16,600 bank account numbers and sort codes were stolen. It was subsequently established that individual personal information obtained during the breach was for sale on the Dark Web for £1.62 per person. One person targeted by the Fraudsters of this breach, lost over £20,000.
